Bernhard Schenke has been a customer of Van den Bos Flowerbulbs for the last sixteen years. With this experience he is uniquely placed to tell us about their strengths. The lily grower from Vietnam has a company of 70 hectares, specializing in growing orientals and OTs.
The question of why this relationship has lasted for such a long time is swiftly answered by Bernhard Schenke. “Van den Bos stands for passion, innovation and quality. You can see this in every department of the company and in all people who are employed there. Added value also plays a role. Then there are things like purchase, preparation and sale. That is why Van den Bos is our most important supplier.”
As a grower he makes his choices on the basis of aspects like quality and reliability. “The strong position of the company in the Southern Hemisphere is also a key factor. Moreover, their service and prices are in line with our needs.”
How does he rate the quality of Van den Bos' bulbs? Bernhard Schenke: “In general it is good. However, in the last two years we have noticed that changing growing conditions have affected the quality of Dutch bulbs.”
This is the kind of positive criticism that he also expects from Van den Bos. Because, he concludes, “I appreciate the collaboration with Van den Bos, but we have to keep each other on our toes and keep striving for improvement!”
